Refraction

Mr. Schunemann showed up with an armful of materials and we had a great impromptu lesson on refraction for both classes. It was great!

Friday and the living is hectic

The third grade assembly was at 9:15 and we went as the official photographer (to mixed reviews).

The big story was the arrival of the Math-a-thon prize materials and our subsequent distribution activities. To say it was hectic is putting it mildly. So far, there have been no repercussions, save one lament, undocumented...hopefully remedied with a certificate of thanks for participation.

Letters to Michigan epals for snail delivery did not make the deadline, so they can go to level two (next Friday deadline) along with the CA snailmails.

Wow! The Carlsbad kids start their vacation right now!!! We sure hope they have a good one! (Meanwhile, the Harbor Beach kids are home for their second snow day in a row...!)

Time to clean up and move on.........

It's beginning to look a lot like....

cell division! Look at this! http://www.cellsalive.com/mitosis.htm

Thanks to Mr. Schuenemann, our high school science teacher contact, we have been able to explore the "small world" in closer detail. Microscopes are amazing tools, don't you think?

We viewed salt, leaves, paper, hair, wood, and more....with more to come.

We got out the standard microscopes, too, and are going to view onion skin cells today, hopefully.
