Happy Thanksgiving Eve Day Eve

Tomorrow is the day before Thanksgiving.

Today we reviewed the Thanksgiving story. Did you know the Pilgrims were actually headed for what later became NJ?? And Thank You, Sarah! for getting us this great national holiday!

It has been a rainy, cold dismal day. Maybe things will improve for the week-end. But, nonetheless, the new Harry Potter movie is out, so all is well!

We have photos for the CA e-pals (and Michigan too) ready to snail mail out when they return from vacation. (Is it fair that the CA class has off all this week...and sunny 73 degree weather to boot???) Is it offset by the fact that our Michigan friends have encountered snow already? Are we therefore, on the average, comfortable???

Must be time to go home. Have a good one!

I came across a very interesting article I don't want to lose, so I am putting it here. It has to do with using the mapquest type technology and combining it with....well, anything! in terms of other areas of interest. The site for the article is: http://news.com.com/Mapping+a+revolution+with+mashups/2009-1025_3-5944608.html?tag=carsl
I hope it stays forever!
Meanwhile, if anyone knows of a site where maps can be modified ....by like common people like teachers and DIS students let me know...or Mrs. Sheeran in the computer lab. Thanks and have a great day!

Marking period 2

Monday is the first day of the second marking period. This week will only have two days for students. (Tuesday is a full day in-service for the teachers and Thursday and Friday we will be heading for the NJEA Convention in Atlantic City for professional development and more!)

I am currently working on report cards (which will be handed out to parents at conferences scheduled for the following week-American Education Week).

Yesterday I walked around Westampton handing out materials regarding Tuesday's election.
This gubernatorial race certainly got sidetracked with personal insults and accusations, it seems. That is sad.

I am sure our class elections in social studies will show good sportsmanship....no matter who wins...

I had orange juice yesterday and I can't wait to write it down on our sweepstakes chart! There is a really information packed site for good nutrition you might want to check out. The URL is:
http://www.mypyramid.gov

That's all for now.....I am back to work! Have a great day!

Chick-fil-A and all is well

Tonight is our big PTA Chick-fil-A Night. What a great community resource that company has turned out to be! I know the place will be packed with our supportive Delran families.

Talking about supportive, we had just over $3000 contributed for the Math-a-Thon for St. Jude's Children's Hospital, and when I turn in the final UNICEF box collection today at the Commerce Penny Arcade, I am sure we will be surpassing our goal of $300 there. Whew!

Many thanks to all collectors and contributors!

Tomorrow is the last day of the marking period......already!

I look forward to meeting with all the parents during American Education Week after we get back from the NJEA Convention.
